For many parents, purchasing things for the kids should be easy, but it can be a bit of a hassle. "I remember going into some of those chain stores and they didn't have anything different or unique," said Kelley Decker. "It inspired me to give parents an alternative to those bigger stores."
Decker is the founder of KidzElement.com, which she started two years ago in May of 2007. Focusing specifically on infants and toddlers, Decker's website has a host of various items such as bedding, clothing, and kids' napmats, among other items.
"I wanted to offer products that are unique, but also practical and inexpensive," she said.
Decker's statement rings especially true in this economic downturn, when people who have growing children cannot simply ignore their offspring's needs. That being said, many of the items on Kidz Elements are affordable and some of them are handmade.
Two specific handmade lines are the bows and headbands that Decker is currently making.
"I make the nap mats, bandana dresses, and the purses," she said. "These are definitely some great items that aren't mass manufactured."
The bows and headbands also join Kidz Element's blog as their list of new features continues to grow.
"The blog is a way for us to exchange ideas and review some of the products we have," Decker said of http://www.TheBabyProductsGuru.com. "Some people may not know what will work with them and the blog is a good resource for that."
Taking full advantage of its two year mark, KidzElement.com will no doubt continue to make sure that parents have their homes equipped for children with all the right things that other stores just seem to be missing.
