ActiveXperts Software today released a new version of its SMS and MMS Toolkit product.
SMS and MMS Toolkit is a replacement of two existing ActiveXperts products: 'ActiveXperts SMS and Pager Toolkit' and 'ActiveXperts MMS Toolkit'. As a result, the object structure has changed. There are 4 objects to support the SMS communication protocols/devices: SmsProtocolGsm, SmsProtocolSmpp, SmsProtocolHttp and SmsProtocolDialup. There are 3 objects to support the MMS communication protocols/devices: MmsProtocolMm1, MmsProtocolMm4 and MmsProtocolMm7. There is 1 object to support the Pager communication protocol: PagerProtocolSnpp.
SMS and MMS Toolkit fully support Windows 2008 (x86 and x64) and Windows Vista SP1. The Windows NT4 operating system is no longer supported.
The toolkit ships as an ActiveX software DLL component. It is a true SDK (software development component), designed to be integrated into Visual Basic .NET, Visual C# .NET, ASP .NET, Visual Basic, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Borland Delphi, Java, PHP and other programming environments.
New are: support for vCard formatted messages, support for Service Indication and Service Load WAP Push, auto detection of SMS message storage on GSM phones and modems, support for UTF8 message subjects, support for SMIL layouts (custom MMS layouts), improved implementation of the MM1 protocol, support for MMS receive from a WAP URL.
All .NET samples are now created in Visual Studio 2005, whereas samples in previous versions were created in Visual Studio 2002. The .NET target framework is 2.0.
